BUG-WALKS OF 2024

The plans, routes and schedules for I_BUTTERFLY 2024 are now being developed. This year’s I_BUTTERFLY is about insect restoration and walking as both a means of communication and as a form of communication. We are now planning approximately 500 miles of “Serious Walking” from July through October. Each walk will be different, averaging from about 5 to 20 miles each. Everyone is invited. Everyone will be welcome to join or leave the walk at any point. Most of the walks will be in NYC where there is usually public transportation near by for those who need to leave early. There will be starting points where we can gather. Some will provide coffee. If you don’t wish to walk please come out and say hi. UPCOMING WALKS

SUNDAY. OCT. 6TH. Walk #8. Together we will walk from Queens NY through neighborhoods, parks and industrial areas in Brooklyn to the Upper New York Bay, down along the Narrows, along Gravesend Bay, inland for a very short stretch, and then ending our adventure at Coney Island!!!! We should see some shorebirds, so you might want to bring binoculars. I’ll be documenting our walk and sharing it. I hope you will do the same. It’s a 16-mile walk. If you don’t want to do the entire route I would recommend mapping out potential exit strategies in advance. We will meet at Billy’s Market Place @ 870 Cypress Ave, Queens, NYC. We’ll begin walking at 10am, so please arrive a little before. The day will end at the Coney Island subway station where one could catch the D,F,N and Q trains. See you Sunday!
